As a wedding photographer, I've had the privilege of capturing many love stories, but Saskia and Joe's is truly one for the books. Let's rewind, shall we? Picture a sticky-floored bar in Liverpool, LAGO, to be precise. Saskia, fueled by gin lemonades and unbridled confidence, was dancing like nobody's business. Joe, smitten instantly, bought her a drink, sealed the deal with chips, and the rest, as they say, is history. A love story born on a dance floor, fueled by laughter and late-night snacks.

Their proposal? Pure, unadulterated Sas and Joe. A secluded shepherd's hut in North Wales, a day of tobogganing and zip-lining, and a romantic set-up that nearly got overlooked by Saskia's enthusiasm for smores.

For Saskia and Joe, their wedding day isn't just about a ceremony; it's about becoming best friends forever, good food, their favorite people, and a massive party. They chose Wilde Lodge, nestled on the Welsh border, a place that honors Saskia's heritage and her late mother. Plus, it's perfect for their love of the outdoors and off-grid adventures.

Their vision? A "fancy festival" – relaxed, fun, and a team effort. They wanted a day where everyone could be themselves, where "adult things" are mixed with childlike playfulness.

I was absolutely blown away by the level of thought and detail that went into creating this day. The bunting made from Sas’ childhood bedsheets, the love spoon Joe hard carved from a joist from their first home, the ring box crafted by one of the groomsmen, the polaroids of every guest with a handwritten note on the back, the illustrations drawn by a friend, the “guest who” game, the pressed flower cake crafted by a friend, the hand painted wedding plates, the bespoke scratch cards, the necklace engraved with Sas’ Mum’s handwriting, the guests who performed and compared, and made the day an absolute blast.

Saskia and Joe's story is a reminder that the best love stories (and weddings) are the ones that are uniquely yours.
