Capturing your Wilde Lodge Wedding
So you’re thinking of getting married in the Welsh Hills? Find out everything you need to know about making the most of this untamed landscape…
WILDE LODGE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Because what could be more poetic than getting married in the land of Dylan Thomas?
Wilde Lodge
For the Wild at heart
Wilde Lodge isn’t just a venue; it’s a vibe. Tucked into the Shropshire and Powys border, it offers a level of freedom you won’t find most wedding venues. Weddings here are unharried and untamed.
If you’re looking for a photography plan that’s as laid-back as your guest list. Here is how I capture the magic of the your day without turning your celebration into a photoshoot:
01. Embracing the Landscape
Wilde Lodge provides a cinematic scale that is hard to beat. My approach is to use that scenery as a backdrop to your real moments. We don’t need hours of posing; we just need ten minutes in the right light to create something editorial and timeless.
02.The Prep Work
The key to an effortless wedding is all in the preparation. As the wedding approaches we’ll have a deep dive into your plans, your people, and your priorities. I gather all the logistical info I need upfront, meaning that by the time you arrive at Wilde Lodge, the “work” is done. You get to stop being a wedding planner and start being a guest at your own party, confident that I know exactly what matters most to you.
03. The Freedom to be Present
Most importantly, a wedding here is about the fun. My documentary style means I’m always looking for the unscripted energy—the laughs on the lawn and the chaos on the dance floor—you can focus on enjoying your day while I focus on capturing it all.

THE STORY OF YOUR DAY, UNTAMED
At the end of the day, Wilde Lodge is about more than just a beautiful backdrop—it’s about the feeling of being totally, unapologetically yourselves in a place that feels like yours alone. You deserve a gallery that captures that same energy: the stylish, the messy, the quiet, and the loud. By focusing on your connection and the landscape’s natural beauty, I’ll ensure you walk away with images that don’t just show how your wedding looked, but exactly how it felt to live it. No performance, no clichés—just your story, captured in the heart of the hills.
Reasons to have your wedding at Wilde Lodge
All the reasons…
It’s yours for the whole weekend.
Having the venue from Friday to Monday transforms the wedding vibe. I love arriving on the morning of a wedding weekender to find everyone milling around. Everything feels calmer and no one feels like they are on a wedding conveyer belt.
Everyone can stay over…or not
There’s room for 14 people in the main house (6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms) and you can hire an entire Glastonbury style Bell Tent village for everyone else.
Epic scenery without the effort
You don’t have to hike (or drive) for miles to get incredible portraits. The Teme Valley views are right on your doorstep. We can slip away for 15 minutes at sunset and get some stunning portraits, and you’ll be back with a fresh drink in your hand before your guests even notice you’ve gone.
It’s dog friendly

It’s yours to do with as you please
As a dry hire venue you can choose EXACTLY how you want your day. You can do what works best for you not the in house wedding planners. If you want someone with plenty of experience to manage things on the day you can hire the lovely Jess to help you craft you perfect day.

The
Long Barn
Exposed timber frame, white washed walls plenty of light and a few persian rugs.. what more could you want from a ceremony space?
You can fit up to 90 guests in here. For anymore you may want to consider…

The

The weather proof outdoor ceremony space. Yes it’s rustic but that’s part of the charm. A stress free outdoor ceremony space for up to 120 guests.
