Cynthia and Mervyn // Walcot Hall Wedding
I’m going to stick my neck out here and say that Walcot Hall is THE best party venue. There’s something about being in the Shropshire hills, with everyone staying on site in the cutest accommodation, that gives it an almost camp-like feel. The wedding fun lasts for days. The evening before the wedding, Cynthia and Mervyn hosted a cabaret where Merv put on a puppet show telling the story of how he and Cynthia met and how he’s proposed three times! It seems quite fitting that after three proposals the two of them ended up having three weddings. They did the legal part in London, then they came up to Shropshire where they had a beautiful ceremony under a Chinese styled huppah, before flying out to Cynthia’s hometown of LA for a Chinese banquet.
At Walcot, Cynthia walked down the aisle to This is the One by the Stone Roses wearing a stunning Amanda Wakeley dress. Her hair was by the lovely Lydia from Hairabella makeup and her makeup was by my fav Omie (who also did my wedding makeup)
The ceremony followed a traditional Jewish wedding format, with candle lighting, seven readings from seven friends, and smash the glass. The whole thing was so heartfelt that I was teary-eyed for most of it.
The celebrations kicked off with a feast of meat from the low n slow crew, followed by some traditional Jewish chair dancing, live music from their friends and a stampede of Elvis’.
It was EVERYTHING a wedding should be. I hope you will love it as much as I did.
A big thank you to Laura May for second shooting with me. So excited to be shooing lots more weddings with this lovely lady.
